Candidates confirmed for London elections on May 1

Candidates' lists have been published for the London elections on May 1.
The election is for the Mayor of London and for the 25 members of the London Assembly.
Electors have two votes in the ballot for Mayor and two votes for Assembly members. For the Assembly, there is one ballot for the 14 members representing particular constituencies, and one for 11 London-wide members elected by party, representing the capital as a whole.
There are three ballot papers:
- A pink ballot paper, to vote for the Mayor, with your first choice and second choice;
- A yellow ballot paper, to vote for a London Assembly member to represent Enfield and Haringey;
- A peach ballot paper, to vote for London-wide Assembly members.
Key dates
To vote in the election your name must be on the electoral register. The last day to register in time to vote in the London election is 16 April 2008.
A voter registration form can be downloaded at www.haringey.gov.uk/voting, or contact the electoral registration team by email elections@haringey.gov.uk or telephone 0845 055 0922.
Applications for a postal vote and amendments or cancellation of existing postal vote arrangements must be received at the same address by 5pm on 16 April 2008.
Applications to vote by proxy in this election, or amendments to existing proxy arrangements, should go the same address by 5pm on 23 April 2008.
