The Edwardian period saw the second professional black footballer in Britain come to prominence when he signed for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, in 1909. His name was Walter Tull. His story is one of inspiration and bravery as he countered racial prejudice and discrimination to become the first Black Army officer commissioned in this country, which in effect changed the law.
