Booking a Ceremony
You can book a wedding or civil partnership ceremony by calling us on 020 8489 2605 or coming in to see us at the Civic Centre in Wood Green, postcode N22 9SB. Before we can marry you, you must have given Notice of Marriage at least 28 and possibly 70 days prior to the date of your ceremony. We may not be able to book a ceremony for you if Notice of Marriage has not been given. Please allow plenty of time for this, ideally at least two months. Unless one or both partners getting married are subject to immigration Notice must be given to your local borough.
Please take a few moments to read and understand the information below. It contains important information about terms and conditions when booking ceremonies with the Haringey Registration and Citizenship Service.
Changing your ceremony date
We are happy to change the date or time of your ceremony free of charge subject to availability up until 30 days before your ceremony date. No refunds are due within the last 29 days prior to your ceremony but we will change your wedding date subject to availability on payment of a new fee.
Paying for your ceremony
We strongly advise you to pay for your ceremony at the time of booking. If you are booking a ceremony less than three months away you need to pay in full at the time of booking. Otherwise full payment is required no later than three months before your ceremony date. Your ceremony fee is subject to change until paid in full.
Allow enough time – arrive a minimum 10 minutes before the start of your ceremony – you will need to pay again and rebook your ceremony if you are late. You will need two witnesses and official government photo ID / Passports with you
Please allow enough time to reach us and park your car. Make allowances for delays getting to your venue. You must report to the Register Office Reception or your venue interview room at least 10 minutes prior to the start of your ceremony. If printing maps or getting directions on a SAT NAV use postcode N22 9SB for Haringey Civic Centre.
If English is not your first language
If English is not your first language and your English is not fluent, please bring somebody with you aged 16+ that can act as your interpreter.
Certificates for Marriage if Notice given elsewhere
If you gave Notice of Marriage elsewhere we will need to have your Certificates for Marriage before we can marry you. These will be issued by the register office where you gave Notice of Marriage. Notice must be given at least 28 and possibly 70 days before a wedding day. Certificates are not required for Civil Partnerships but you must still give Notice of Civil Partnership.
Cancelling your ceremony
Cancellation must be made by the Bride, Groom, Civil Partners or couple having a ceremony. Cancellation must be made in writing at least 30 days before the ceremony date. No refund will be due if you cancel your wedding 29 days or less before the ceremony date. Late attendance will be treated as a cancellation.
Subject to Immigration
If you are subject to immigration you are strongly advised to check with the Home Office that you have the correct immigration status to marry or form a civil partnership in the UK. If your ceremony is stopped by Immigration and is not able to proceed as planned you will be liable to pay again should you wish to rebook your ceremony.
We wish you a happy ceremony; please contact us if we can be of any further assistance by calling 020 8489 2605 or by email to email@example.com
